THE CRAFT OF MAKING QUALITY CINEMA HAS BEEN LOST TO THE POWERS OF INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE. DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS? WHY, OR WHY NOT?

Piyush Srivastav Absolutely. Not in all cases though but majorly it is true. And this is something valid from commerce point of view. Who doesn't want to earn money! ;) But still I am happy that despite such things; good films are being made, good films are working & not only in our country but overseas as well. So it's a place for both; one who just wants to make money and less good films and one who just wants to make good films and a little less money.

Aditya Nair I agree with this, and this I believe stems mostly out of the idea that that the producers tend to underestimate the audience. They have a certain yardstick with which they measure the audience and their sensibilities and they treat them as children, never allowing them to grow beyond the realms of banal commercial cinema. They are afraid to take bold steps and are scared of experimenting. And as long as this habit of playing safe continues, the future of Cinema is bleak.

Surya neccessary tht bad cinema is bad or good cinema is good. Real world has all emotions(trust, fear, anger, sadness, joy, disgust, surprise, thrills, envy, pity, shame, pride, patience, hope, confusion) but not everybody has it all , some has been thru these emo some thru tht emo, so it's our(filmwallahs) job to give them the the feeling of what they don't have or even if they have but they like to have it more. .Today People go for commercial cinema bcoz they already have enough reality in their surrounding but what we need to give them is how to cope with that unwanted things and also to accept the reality which looks ugly but not ignorable. Cinema and society both reflect each other
